Our Ex-Trainees at Work - Our Pride
It goes without saying that AICB represents an admirable blend of passion and pragmatism. This explains why not only do we, here at the AICB, vigorously advocate for and seek gainful employment for persons with visual disabilities; but also work relentlessly towards promoting their employability, skill building and capacity augmentation with equal and pronounced emphasis. Our skill building/training programmes got kick-started in the year 1982-83; and, since then, there has been no looking back.
Evidently, this initiative continues to deliver the desired dividends; so much so that till date over 500 persons with visual disabilities have got recruited to various govt. departments and public sector undertakings, and are performing to the best satisfaction of the employers. It is therefore, no wonder that some 12 employees working in various establishments have so far been conferred the National Awards instituted by the Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment, Govt. of India as a mark of recognition of their performance and achievements.
It gives us immense pleasure and satisfaction in sharing the details of some of our ex-trainees with visual disabilities as stated above who are gainfully employed in various establishments (including those who received the national awards). However the list given here, is not exhaustive one.
